Natasha

Natasha is a sophomore hoping to major in Cognitive Science and minor in Spanish. She is interested in the connections between language acquisition, cognition, and bilingualism. Natasha is a member of the Cornell Chorus and loves all kinds of music. In her free time, she likes to read and spend time with her friends.

Kelly Chan


Kelly is a junior at Cornell University, hoping to major in psychology and linguistics. She is interested in language acquisition in bilinguals. At Cornell, she is also the Sustainability Assistant of Ecology House and editor of The Undergraduate Disabilities Studies Journal. In her free time, she likes to dance Latin Ballroom with her friends.

Allison Chang

Allison is a sophomore from Southern California studying Biology and Society with minors in Business and Global Health. She’s passionate about working with and for others and having grown up in a dual-language household, she also has a specific interest in language processing and acquisition. On campus, she is involved with the Wind Symphony and is also a member of Pi Beta Phi. At home, when she has more free time, she enjoys spin classes, buying matcha lattes, and reading memoirs, as well as spending time outside with her family and dog, Bella.

Junyi (April) Chen


Junyi (April) is a junior majoring in psychology and economics. She is interested in learning about first and second language acquisition as well as language acquisition for bilinguals. At Cornell, she is a mentor in Cross-Cultural Adoptee Mentorship Program, and she is involved in Translator-Interpreter Program. In her free time, she likes to watch films and cook.

Nana Darko


Nana is a junior in CALS studying Biological Sciences on the premed track. He is concentrating in Neurobiology & Behavior and hopes to dive deeper into the neuroscience of second language acquisition and how that may propose new theories of learning and memory in human beings. On campus, he is involved with the Cornell Red Cross and volunteer work. Nana likes to play and watch soccer in his leisure time. He also enjoys cooking and food touring whenever he can.

Dania Alvarez Morales

Dania is a sophomore studying Human Development in the pre-health track. She was born and raised in Mexico and moved to San Diego, CA, six years ago. At Cornell, she’s involved in EARS “Empathy, Assistance & Referral Service.” She’s interested in learning about multilingualism and how it affects the brain and communication skills, such as emotional expression and personality changes. In her free time, she enjoys going for runs or hiking with her friends.

Maximilian von Erb

Max is currently a Junior from New York City majoring in Psychology. Raised multi-lingual and multi-national, Max is interested in the intersection between language acquisition and cultural variability. Off campus, he has a show on WVBR (ithaca’s real rock radio) and in his free time he makes music with his friends.
